Mr babe cool. Please allow me to jolt in my contribution to the current uproar. Im not sure if you read the document or heard it as a Lugambo, banaye banange. In addition, our foreign affairs minister and minister of information came out and clarified the issue - that this decision isnt meant to chase away foreigners but to balance job distributions. First, musicians are always peace makers and beacon of hope - thats why they are called role models and icons. For example, during the war in northern Ireland, an Irish band (think its called u2) contributed immensely through their music and reunited Catholics and non Catholics. The late south African icon lucky dude spent most of his time and resources in composing lovely and memorable songs against apartheid. Emmanuel Kembe in south Sudan also composed and sang rich songs in the fight against war, injustice etc. If I were you I would have utilized this time to write song that addresses the issue of unemployment in Ugandan and how Ugandans found green pastures in South Sudan. This is my little knowledge and understanding about musicians and their pivotal roles. Mind you, I spent my refugee years in Uganda( another discussion subject) and I vividly remember in the late 90s when we werent allowed to come to town instead we were told that refugees are supposed to be in the camp. Those who were allowed to come to town were classified as urban refugees by the Ugandan government and sometimes asked for Mosoro Lease Passé kind of thing. In South Sudan today, foreigners enter the country and are allowed to move freely, some own businesses and dont even pay taxes, some dont renew their immigration documents. We very much appreciate the good deeds rendered to us by your respective cointries during the dark days, but please dont use that as an excuse to not allow us or my government to make strategic decisions. In conclusion, I would humbly ask you to write an apology to South Sudanese and the Government of South Sudan. Thanks.
