Mrs. Merlinis class at McCall is deep in a debate! After critically examining their community, two possible topic ideas have emerged. Some of the 4th grade students want to focus their project on school lunches and nutrition while another group feels that graffiti and vandalism should be the class issue to tackle. The kids were asked to research their stance and present their ideas to the group. One student in the nutrition camp asked, Why do we keep getting these assemblies about nutrition and eating healthy but the school district keeps giving us these lunches that are full of preservatives? While a vandalism supporter shared that her uncles restaurant had graffiti on it. It was ugly and it cost a lot of money to get rid of it. We are excited to see what these amazing kids decide as a team!
