Ms. Pooja Bajaj, physiotherapist at AktivOrtho™, shares her experiences about her patient, Ms. Jyotsna Diesh CLIENT TESTIMONIAL Ms. Jyotsna Diesh: “I learnt about AktivOrtho through a friend and the internet. After gathering plenty of information about the facility from my friends, I finally visited it in March 2014. I was in search of an effective treatment for my condition and this led me to Dr. Gerd Mueller (MD). I was suffering from ‘decreased mobility’ and was facing considerable difficulty in getting into a car and doing things like climbing a staircase. Before coming to AktivOrtho, I had visited a few other physiotherapy and naturopathy centres, but they had failed to cure me completely and my relief was always short-lived. At AktivOrtho, I had observed that they give more emphasis on individual needs and the treatment is clearly monitored in reference to a patient’s recovery. The quality is excellent. I was assigned to Dr. Pooja Bajaj who is a dedicated and well-trained physiotherapist. With expert guidance from Dr. Mueller and through Pooja’s dedication, my condition has improved impressively in a short span of time. Now, I feel more confident while moving around and doing routine daily activities. Resultantly, my physical actions have increased and I am feeling healthier. The western approach of AktivOrtho had certainly benefitted me very much. At AktivOrtho, the techniques used are totally different and so is the process. Thanks to Dr. Mueller and Pooja, I have now become more ‘Aktiv’. There is a greater mobility now”. COMMENTS BY PHYSIOTHERAPIST Ms. Pooja Bajaj “Ms. Jyotsna Diesh came to our centre complaining of generalised stiffness and myalgia which led to decreased mobility. She was having difficulties in lifting her right leg while being transferred in the car, climbing and getting down stairs and her major issue was maintaining balance during walk on uneven ground, turning and reaching out for things. Her detailed evaluation was done which revealed osteoarthritis in her left hip and right knee. Her right lower limb was short as compared to the left due to polio which was a contributory factor to her overall imbalance. Her assessment revealed decreased scores for balance and lower limb muscle strength with lack of flexibility in her body. Our initial approach was to gain flexibility and then strengthen the muscles. With initiation of treatment, she responded well, which was calibrated further with the balance and functional training program. Now, the patient is doing really well with gained mobility and balance which she further wants to accentuate with ongoing fitness program and wants to enjoy benefits of a healthy body and mind”.
