Mt Hutt is closed again today due to strong winds, low visibility and drifting snow. It snowed on and off all night but it is hard to say how much more has fallen on top of yesterdays 1.2m as the new snow has been blown around all over the place. We need to conduct extensive avalanche control work before we can allow snow clearing machinery onto the road and groomers out onto the mountain to begin the big dig-out. This control work can only be done once visibility has improved. Keep an eye on fb today for regular updates and photos as this epic storm passes through.
