Much ado about.. dogs. Really? Let me get a few things clear. I have nothing against dogs. I do believe they are faithful and loveable. I look at them as Gods creatures, and have every right to be understood and to be shown compassion for. I am aware of my limitations as a Muslim when (if), I interact with them. But because I was never really exposed to them, there is a paranoia that exists in me, due to the fact that I was chased by a pack of them whilst riding my bicycle as a kid. Unfortunately, because of that incident, a fear strikes in me every time they come close. The day Mark and I got married, when we were walking back to our hotel, a pack of dogs came towards us, at lightning speed (as far as I was concerned). Mark grabbed my hand tightly and whispered Stay calm..They can smell fear. What did I do then? SCREAM. I screamed like there wasnt going to be a tomorrow. At that point, the dogs mustve been in quite a shock just as I, or Mark was, and retreated with whimpers. The look Mark gave me was.. terkejut hampir pengsan. Nasib baik dah nikah.. I may have just given him grounds to have second thoughts. I admit it was an irrational behaviour, one which Im not proud of, and cannot promise, it wont happen again, but Ill try. For that reason, I do commend the initiative taken to break that barrier. I am not here to emphasise on pahala/dosa/hukum. I too am still learning. I do have a problem when it comes to people who do not hesitate to put down an effort for a better understanding, with rude and uncalled remarks. How does it benefit YOU, or the rest of us Muslims, bila awak menyindir lepas ni pegang babi lah? (amongst others). Kenapa perlu menghina? Orang yg mungkin berhak menghina ialah orang yg bersih dari segala dosa. Tapi, kalau awak bersih dari dosa, awak tak akan menghina. Instead.. you should make an initiative of your own to create an awareness which you think is lacking. That would be progressive. I cringe when I see comments that do nothing but mengkeji. Nothing in the Al-Quran condones that. Adab budi bicara is evaporated into thin air because of ones inability to accept a different point of view. Icing on the cake was when someone accused me of being an opposition supporter when I corrected him this wasnt a political event. Wha....ttttt??? Berpada-pada lah nak beri teguran pun.. silap ayat, termasuk category fitnah. Besar tanggungannya.
