Well you see my abundance of positive posts lately, and you know what? I see a LOT of positive going on right now however they are in the form of memes so rather than just throwing a picture of a lake and something inspirational, I decided to share a real life story that I experienced a couple weeks ago. Setting: Cows with their calves are in the pasture between the 2nd and 3rd gate from my grandmas house so for years, Id take the four wheeler out, make sure there were no cows in the pasture between gate 1 and 2.. and Id push them over if there were and then come back and THEN go do my running. Instead of running further out, Id run back and forth from the house to the 2nd gate until I hit however many miles I was running that day; this was the safest way. Now the Lord has heard my prayer of Please dont let that bull/cow/pack of coyotes over there chase me PLEASE!!!! many times over the years. Now, at 27 I decide to run to my dads house closer to the 3rd gate (about a mile and a quarter from the 2nd gate. As I go I do my usual prayer for Please keep me safe, I need to run to my dads if I want to get service for this 3 way call I need to be on in 20 minutes. Cool. I start. I avoid every cow by going through the long grass (got chiggers btw..) and stayed close to the fence. Nothing bothered me. AWESOME THEY ARE NICE NOW!! On my way back I say the prayer again. This time I get closer to the road and found a newly made road obviously from the last time it was muddy, and stayed on that. Safe still and out of the cactus. Cool. Then she sees me, her and her calf. I was like well I went by before and nothing so come on. Shes got her sights on me. I figure as I get closer shell carry on or run off. So Im at this boulder, approximately 400 meters to my safe haven, The 2nd gate! I start running, she sets a pace towards me. Wait God, no.. this wasnt suppose to happen. Whats going on? I go faster. Shes still coming. Did I ever think that 9 years of not sprinting I could still sprint a 400 meter dash? I did that day. Did she get me? No. I hurdled over that cattle guard and she and her calf ran by. Now I have checkpoints on that trail, but I DO now go past that safe zone. Sometimes you have to take a chance because the main limitation is your own mind. I didnt doubt God but I wasnt sure what he was trying to show me that day. What he showed me is had the strength and try to overcome my fear that day. I was safe. She didnt get me. I got what I asked for, just in a way I didnt expect. Good night friends!!!
