Muhammad Ibrahim Joyo born August 12, 1915, son of Muhammad Khan, is a teacher, writer scholar and Sindhi nationalist. He was born in the village of Abad near Laki, Kotri, Dadu, now in Jamshoro, Sindh,Pakistan. Muhammad Ibrahim Joyo got his early education from his village. He got education from Luki and Sann. He passed Matriculation from Sindh Madarsatul Islam in 1934. He passed B.A. in 1938 from DG Sindh College; University of Bombay. He went to Bombay for TP education. Muhammad Ibrahim Joyo, a living legend, a great scholar and an enlightened educationist, is one of the most eminent personalities of contemporary Sindhi society, who laid down the lasting foundation of modern thinking- humanism, patriotism and nationalism in Sindh, his homeland, he heartily loves with, and the center of his learned gravity and unshakable commitment. His contributions through his scholarly writings, extensively spread out to the fields of language, pure literature, education and political philosophy/ history and elegant, snave and thought provoking translations, are undoubtedly and unquestionable incredible, conspicuous and highly qualitative in terms of transforming Sindh into a rational, progressive, dynamic and secular society, wherein be no place for any vice and wrong like fatalism, defeatism and obscurantism- the traditional tools historically used for exploitation, slavery and suppression of human-being. The two personalities that inspired Joyo Sahib most are G.M. Syed and Pir Hussamuddin Rashdi. G.M. Syed himself was first deeply impressed with the movements of Pan-Islamism as a young scholar. He also participated in the Khilafat movement. The other social and political movements that G.M. Syed either took an interest in or practically worked for were Theosophical Society, Sindh Hari Committee, Educational Conference, movement for the separation of Sindh from Bombay Presidency and, though it may sound ironical today, the Pakistan movement. In fact, G.M. Syed organized the All India Muslim League in Sindh. He made sure that the Sindh legislative assembly voted in favor of Pakistan. It was the first motion of its kind approved by any assembly in pre-independence era. Being a disciple and close ally of G.M.
