Muhammad was suicidal after receiving a message from God, he we also demon possessed at one stage. One particular reason for so much confusion and such varied interpretations of Islam is because there is no narrative in the Quran. Without the hadith (which arent even divine revelations), the Quran would make little sense. Muslims are called to imitate Muhammad over 40 different times. For 13 years as a preacher, he gained about 150 followers. After several years of Jihad, he became a ruler and was involved in a violent event, on average every seven weeks for the last 9 years of his life. ISIS are merely showing us how Islam exploded out of the desert 1,400 years ago. The real problem is this: Muslims dont generally evaluate Muhammads faults before submitting to Allah, they submit and then try to rationalize his actions regardless of how sinful he was. Islam is the largest cult on Earth.
