Museum of the Coastal Bend 2200 E Red River Victoria, Texas on October 9: Workshop - Stories Matter! Gather-Capture-Share This workshop, led by Lori Najvar, is designed for those who want to acquire and hone their recording, interviewing and photography skills to document their own family’s stories and memories in the digital age. The workshop takes place at MCB from 5:30-6:30pm on Thursday, October 9. Admission is pay-what-you-want. You’ll learn ways to capture meaningful portraits, build a story with creative sounds and images, and where to share your collected stories. Youll be inspired! About the presenter: Lori is a native Texan who has an intimate knowledge of and deep love for Texas traditions. As the director of the nonprofit arts organization PolkaWorks, preservation of cultural traditions is her primary focus. As a designer, photographer and videographer for nonprofits and education-based institutions. Her documentary film The Grove, Texas won Best Texas Film at the 2014 Texas Hill Country Film Festival. Gathering stories and documenting folk traditions are her life passions. PolkaWorks exhibit Texas Czechs: Rooted in Tradition, is at the Museum of the Coastal Bend through December 6, 2014.
