Museveni and Amama, Who is more Divisive? Museveni Explains Sacking. By Goodluck Musinguzi President Yoweri Museveni has explained in details why he sacked Rt Hon Amama Mbabazi. Appearing on foreign media in his tour of Europe, the question of Amama is everywhere. Journalists are comfroting President Yower Museveni with questions like when are you retiring, why do you sack those who develop Presidential ambitions. President Museveni has put record straight, i sacked Mbabazi because he was involved in divisive politics but not the issue of Presidential ambition. Why Ugandans think otherwise? President Yoweri Museveni let the NRM caucus at Kyankwazi start the debate of sole candidancy. But before a grand plan was hatched to stop Mbabazis star, after winning the office of Secretary General will majority, the Chairman who sit is rig fenced must have felt this. Mbabazi was made PrimeMinister so that he drops office of Secretary General. The campaign against Mbabazi intensified, Mbabazi must have been clever to refuse. His argument was that its not only him, who has a party position. As campaign against him intensified, Mbabazi started fighting back and this is perceived as divisive. Musevenis explanation means that Mbabazi should have been quite so that he is raptured. Many political players think, it was selfish for Museveni to think that Mbabazi had no right to defend self. The campaign intensified and in one National Executive Committee of NRM, President Museveni was overwhelmed when 5 people opposed Mbabazi and rest supported idea that it was not him alone. In fact, a constitutional amendment was drafted calling those serving in government to leave party positions. Mbabazi fighting for his political rights is seen divisive but Museveni holding office for 30 years is ok. More than 10 billion shillings was paid to popularise Sole candidate and more is being paid as Ministers go around. Mbabazi has been abused and President Museveni has simply watched or not put his aides out of order. Members of First family going around country telling those willing to listen that some leaders want to take Uganda backwards. That standing against President Museveni is not being sincere. However, Ugandans think Mbabazi has shown humility amidst attacks and selfishness from Museveni camp. So who is more divisive? Will Ugandans sack Museveni in next election since he sacked Mbabazi too.
