Musical influence of an elders life, part 1: A rare, for this page, posting of a song. I know many only know Mr Heron for his The Revolution Will Not be Televised Tonight poem, and, many do not like his renderings, and, the music style is a bit dated. But ... He speaks truth, as well as anyone else. He describes and calls for action about a world he saw and lived and tried to make you aware of it, also. He is considered the Grandfather of Rap. But, as you can see if you listen, perhaps this is true from the style and poems and the blending of his societal views into speaking music genre, he unlike many of the current Rap stars, had a message. A deep, powerful, and haunting message. He never used the word Ho to describe a woman. He had a respect for people and a disrespect for the authorities that govern us but he also had empathy and wished for a better world, not just a different one. Give a listen.
