Must know about our scared temple. Two great sons of Terton Pema Lingpa named Sangdag and Kuengga Wangpo Marched towards eastern Bhutan to establish their centers. .Kuenga Wangpo founded the Khouchung and Dungkhar Chojie in Kurtoe.Similarly, Sangdag established himself in Yagang in Mongar. Their he built Yagang Lhakhang. From Yangang, he travel led Yangnyer in 15 th century. After arrival of him, What a surprise! a Cuckoo broken into a melodious song. Sangdag marked it as a good omen and built a Lhakhang at the site. Construction completed successfully and he named a Lhakhang as Kupijigstam( Temple of the singing Cuckoo). Legend says, a founder our Lhakhang died at Yangnyer. The main relics are the 1. Kudung Choeten where his remains are kept. 2. A small statue of Sangdag 3.Kadam Chorten known as Terma( Treasure) that was brought by him. In a nutshell, it is all about how our Lhakhang got its name by whom and why it important for all us to preserve and promote!!!!!!!!!!!!
