Mwamba Says Sorry to Muvi TV Cameraman Emmanuel Mwamba, the unofficial spokesperson for Patriotic Front president Edgar Lungu, has apologiosed to Muvi TV cameraman Lloyd Kapusa for suffering harrasment at the hands of ruling party cadres. Kapusa has previously suffered harassment in the course of his duty. He’s the cameraman who was once at the receiving end of a few blows from UPND official William Banda. Banda was taken to court where he apologised and paid Kapusa some money to withdraw the case. Some journalists were upset Kapusa opted to withdraw the William Banda case for a few pieces of silver. Here below is Emmanuel Mwamba’s Apology on Behalf of Edgar Lungu I have learnt with sadness that you suffered harrasment and an attack during your noble course of your duty during the visit by PF President Hon. Edgar Lungu to Mongu. The barbaric attacks against you have blighted what was a very successful tour. I am however confident that this incident is isolated and doesn’t reflect the type of leadership that Hon. Lungu is fostering in the PF. I have known Lloyd Kapusa Kapusa since he joined us in Western Province while I served as Permanent Secretary there. Lloyd is a young professional journalist who strives to post objective and fair reports but without fear, favour , bias nor malice It’s therefore regrettable that while we spoke and prepared to cover PF President Edgar Lungu’s trip in Western Province, unknown and zealous cadres denied us favourable and professional coverage. I wish to sincerely apologise to you, Lloyd and Muvi Tv Management. Journalist should never be attacked for doing their job for they are a mere mirror of society. Sometimes the reflection might not please certain quarters. I will bring this serious matter to the attention of Hon. Edgar Lungu and I am confident we shall profer an official apology to you and to your institution. Please soldier on as a professional for your labour posted in what is considered a rural outpost has brought and shone light to the plight and issues affecting the people of Western Province. Stay blessed and May God protect you always. zambiareports/2014/12/14/mwamba-apologises-muvi-tv-cameraman/
