My 2 cents on the Zimmerman verdict: IMHO, this was a proper verdict. Not what I would have chosen, but legally proper. Under the facts of this case, as presented to the jury, a verdict of “Guilty” would also have been proper. Do I think that Zimmerman should have been convicted, absolutely, but: The issue was whether the jury had any "reasonable doubt," as interpreted under Florida law. The reality is that no one knows what occurred once that confrontation began. Under Florida law, once the issue of “Self Defense” is raised it becomes the burden of the prosecution to disprove it. We all have our opinion, some valid, some evidence based and some (as we have seen on TV and on FB) supported solely by bias. But, all of this screams “reasonable doubt” .
