My 20 month old fell and injured his tooth a few months ago. The dentist at the time said it just had to run its course - it would either fall out or tighten back up. But a small abscess has developed above his tooth now and the dentist is recommending extraction so that the infection does not damage or negatively effect his permanent teeth. Since he freaked out for her to even look in his mouth, she says it is necessary we put him under general anesthesia for the procedure. I really hate to put him through all that if its not absolutely necessary and it will end up costing us over $1,000 to extract a baby tooth! Im wondering if there are any alternative dentistry websites or treatments for an abscessed baby tooth that anyone knows of?-Anonymous
