My Adoption Day Poem For: my mom and dad I was a sibling of five children, Whome were all beaten neglected and torn, My sister was five and took care of us all, While wishing she was never born, We were in the system so many times, Because of the horrible things our mom did, But the final straw was when she killed our brother, She lost custody of her kids, We were officially without parents, All we knew was hurt and pain, But God had a special plan for us all, A miracle we were about to gain, A lady named Donna Roberson was a foster parent, She received a call about me, They told her I needed help, And to immediately come and see, And when she got there our eyes met, She knew I was the one she was coming to see, Out of a hundred kids in the room, All she could see was me, She took me home and showed me love, She taught me how to care, She is the definition of who a true hero is, Because she was always there, And at the age of three, She adopted me, I had a family!! Thank you mom for all youve done, You mean the world to me, You have opened my eyes to a whole different world, I was blind and now I see, I only hope to give back to my son, All you have given to me, I promise to teach him love and how to be kind, And how to be happy. I love you mom
