My Adventures in Bangkok: I am back from my solo trip from Phuket - TopicsExpress

My Adventures in Bangkok: I am back from my solo trip from Phuket & Bangkok sponsored by TUI India. This was my first solo trip abroad. On my spare day in Bangkok I tried the risky, fast & furious motorcycle taxi ride to avoid the horrible traffic jams in Bangkok. Later I was told by a fellow British traveler it was illegal to do so without wearing the helmet & if a cop stops you the fine will be minimum 1000 Bath or you will have to land in a Bangkok police station (Eventually I landed in 3 police stations in the evening for other reason). I really enjoyed the thriller ride around the Bangkok city. It was an unforgettable experience. The motorcycle taxi man helped me to avoid traffic jam and took shortcuts or even rode on a path walk. It even speed-ed in a zigzag manner on wrong side of the road. While coming back to hotel I decided to take a Tuk Tuk instead of the risky motorcycle taxi. The Tuk Tuk ride was also a dare devil ride because the driver was driving as if he was riding horse in a Hollywood movie scene. There was a notice inside of the Tuk Tuk that the passengers must be careful of their belongings from bag snatcher two wheeler riders. After reaching my hotel, I came across a young Indian couple from Delhi. Both of them were in distress as their money was stolen by their driver cum guide. The driver harassed them the whole day & threatened of the dire consequences if they dared to lodge a police complaint against him. I helped them to make the calls to the local Indian tour agent in Bangkok with my phone. The sight of crying lady awakened the angry Singham in me & I scolded the local Indian origin agent a lot. We all decided to lodge a police complaint against the driver so that he would think twice before cheating the other tourists in future. So we hired a meter taxi at 8 pm for the police station along with the Thai speaking Indian guy. We were directed to two different police stations & at 11 pm we successfully landed in the concerned Phrarachawang Police Station. The commander on duty was very helpful & he immediately called the driver to be present within 30 minutes in police station. The driver didnt turn out even after 1 hour & so the officer decided to take down our written complaint. He also assured that he would personally see to that the driver wouldnt do such crime again. So after lodging the complaint we returned to our hotel at 1 am. ** The doctor couple had a flight back home in the early morning. Coincidentally I met the Indian agent in a restaurant in the evening. He informed that the driver had been stripped of his job by the owner & the police officer also taught a lesson to the guy. The driver was repenting for his mistake.
