My Ashton absolutely hates school this year. He is having trouble in Math. The great minds here decided to go to this Core Math, in an effort for us to reach national levels. I am all for this but you cant get to C from A, you need B. Math has always been one of Ashtons strongest subjects, hate to see him so frustrated. His teacher first said he is hyper and his attention wasnt there. I smiled said well hyper yes he is a boy, attention....no way. I told her children with ADHD would never be able to sit and put over 600 piece lego spacecraft together in a couple hours. She started to say medicine, I she stopped cause of my facial expression, it was basically saying dont you dare say it. We went that route once, autistic and adhd meds dont work well, at all. Ashton was in a zombie state, walked with one arm extended like he couldnt see or keep his balance, the other hand was busy pulling at his gum line until the root was exposed. We put him on this medication while we were on vacation so that we could be with 24/7, we was in Florida. I called his doctor and they immediately took him off. Its very simple in our world, I am very clear...NO MEDS. Ashton is Ashton, I want o see and know him. I asked his teacher if she was up to the challenge to forget her lesson plan to a degree and lets go out the box a bit to figure out how Ashton will SEE this math. She said yes at first, but am not thinking she quite understood what I meant. So today, we will meet again, with research I did and some alternate teaching methods. Please keep Ashton and his teachers in your prayers, cant let this mind shut because he is frustrated. He did however get his 3rd pimple, he has been scrubbing his face like crazy. He is now back to the gel spiked hair and says he looks more handsome this way. He hesitated getting out the car this morning, said he felt like he was going to war. I bet its like a war to his mind. Please keep him in your prayers, I know he will no only get this new math but he will excel in it once we can get it to him the way he can see it. Lots of Love Yall KK and Ashton
