My Grandfather Jesse Carol Sarver was a New orleans police officer. He was the only major role model in my life and he was the world to me. I was living with him and my grandmother at the age of six and I was there the night he was killed 3 days before he retired. I had everything of his, His uniforms, gun, gun belt, bullets all of it including pictures. I kept it for years until a house fire destroyed it al. I could never find anything of him not even pictures from other family members. So for the longest time all I had was the memory of him. Now this is how cool the internet is. After all these years I find a police training video from 1960 tittled Booked For Safe Keeping from the New Orleans police department on Youtube. Guess whos in it? Yep they even call him out by name about halfway through it. Now I have the film but also I froze the parts he is in and screen shot them which I can now convert to photos to frame and keep.
