My Grandpa taught me how to have fun in life. He had beautiful - TopicsExpress

My Grandpa taught me how to have fun in life. He had beautiful eyes, but his heart was even more beautiful. I think of him a lot in the summer. I loved to spy on him when he was out working on the farm. My grandpa understood my love for life. He taught me how to do a lot of things, but the most important thing he taught me was how to laugh. He would always tell jokes just to make everyone laugh. I dont tell cheesy jokes like he did, but I do love to make people laugh. My Grandpa never judged me, and if he did...He didnt let me know. He loved me. That was one thing I was certain of. He was the only person that could call me carrot top without it upsetting me because I knew he was good. My Grandpa instilled in me a passion for music which I embraced on many levels. When I hear George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Johnny Cash...I think of him. Grandpa always liked to make us feel special. On the first day of my first job, he stood in my line at McDonalds & told everyone in line that I was his grand-daughter. I can still see the smile on his face & hear the little giggle in his voice. I loved when Grandpa would let me ride in the front seat with him after church because it made me feel special. Most of all, I remember how much my Grandpa loved Jesus. He would talk to me about Jesus in a different way. He would sit and quietly read his Bible and I never really understood how he could read it so much...until now. I loved how he would always pray over our meals. I always hoped I would have a husband someday that would pray for me. I never thought that was possible because I never heard people talk about God outside of church the way my Grandpa did. He would always point out the beauty of Gods work to me when we were out on the farm. He once told me that the saddest part of his life was knowing that he wouldnt live to see my son grow up. My Grandpa loved Alex so much. The coolest part of Gods love is seeing it in others. I will often look at my boys and see my Grandpa in them. In Alexs passion for music & Owens cute little giggle. The older I get, the more I see Gods word come to life! Not in the scary way I remember as a child, but through His promises. Through the promise that if we will have faith and trust Him...He will provide for every need. I see that the a bible is not a big book of condemning rules, but as an instruction manual for how to avoid the chaos of life & how to truly live in the joy, love, and peace found in Him alone. I often say to myself, I cant even imagine how wonderful Heaven must be because the glimpse I get here on earth sometimes is indescribable. Oh how blessed I am to know that my Grandpa is covered in that love. I pray that every person that reads this will be blessed by the power of Gods love. :)
