My IM70.3 experience So there was storms in Taiwan, And because of the storms previous day, IM skipped swim course and hence the race started with 6k run then 90k bike n then 21k run.. As easy as it sounds, it kills u, I personally would prefer the swim.. Did 6k in 28min, 1min 40sec in translation and I was on the bike. 3hr 15min in d race, I was at 80k on bike(10k away from finish) I got a flat tyre.. Have never fixed a puncture every in my life have only seen videos.. So now i was to fix it but my co2 capsule opened b4 I had plugged it in properly.. The helper bike came to me but couldnt converse at all coz of language problem (really annoying) Was asking for help.. 2 cyclists gave me there pumps but did not help.. I thought thats the end of my race.. Was helpless, struggling, crying and watching all the cyclists pass by for 40mins.. Then 1 of the helper bike told me that there is a service station 1km away.. So I ran with the bike to service station, fixed the puncture started ringing again.. 2 to 3 km in d race, again I got a puncture same tyre and this time I had no tube and no service station.. I started running with the bike, was too difficult as I had to save my energy for the 21k run, so got on d cycle n rode it very slowly 5k to d translation.. I was targeting to finish bike course in 3hr 5min max (which was easily possible), I took 4hr 15min.. Ever since the race started till this point, it was raining continuously, making the bike course tough for every one.. Was already getting cramps n as soon I got off the bike got a bad cramp on my right thigh.. Released it, put some spray n started d run.. At 5k aid station stopped to drink water, when I started running at that point my left thigh gave up, and just refused to move.. so I stopped n massaged it n started walking.. Was feeling like my muscle is frozen.. There I met Simon, the guy who gave me his pump.. He was getting cramps too n he was walking.. from there to 6th km I walked along with Simon.. Then I had a plan.. My trainer mode came into the play.. Simon n I started doing 2min running n 2min brisk walking.. Pushed ourself to do this till 20km.. From 20km I dont know what happened I started running n last 200mtrs I almost sprinted :) Simon and I made sure we push each other through out.. And guess what.. Finished the race.. !!
