My Life – a poem I listened to a poem recently – composed and shared by a dear friend. He is described as “the Clayhearted One who is not of this world”. I interpreted it in just one sentence…For those seeking purpose in life, there is one thing that is certain for all…AN END. You may have a different interpretation, so let me share this poem with you: Like the sun I awake today I wake to fulfill my purpose In hope I wait for what you have to say On my knees, head down, I take this humble pose I cry out to you Lord, yet speechless My heart is heavy, I praise regardless You said you’re the potter, what are you making out of this clay? Calling out to you father, help me find my way Every step I take seems like a million Every move I make turns me into a chameleon I see the ordinary, you see the supernatural I act in a hurry, you said be still it comes natural Righteousness is not by works, it’s a gift Your success is not by luck, it’s God’s gift ***** So I wait for this gift – and His lift I wait in hope for a pardon shift Short of words, don’t know what to do Surrender to you God, I’m counting on you Who said you won’t go through tribulations, trials and pains The righteous fall seven times, and rises again Challenge is the mark of the believer, overcoming is the conclusion I’m a child of God the Father; in Him I have my submission ***** On this journey called ‘Life’ I ‘Crashed’ And as I wander, found between choices – ‘Colour and Colourlessness’ My choice seems hopeless, family and friends call me ‘The Dreamer’ The choice became harsh, friends vanished, family watched as I ‘Danced in the son’ Not for long, rain came and in hope for harvest, I waited… …but the seeds won’t grow, the tree won’t bear fruits My faith grew weary; my hope is crushed and my heart is broken Oh! ‘My Life’ – are my dreams but a fantasy? A false or ‘Da Truth’ When will it all be ‘Beautiful Beautiful’ – like sunlight burning at midnight? When will I see my ‘Convenient Day?’ Till then, I keep ‘Sounding the alarm’ For in the end only one sound matters “WHOOSH”
