My Movie Pick Of The Week: “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” Mr. Peabody & Sherman were characters who belonged to the Jay Ward family along with Bullwinkle and Rocky. Ooh, I just adore Natasha and Boris! Now that it gets dark soon after 5pm, the clear focus for an evening at home is popcorn and a movie. Last night a storm was brewing in the desert I now call home. By 8 oclock I started yawning so my husband and I decided to make it an early night under the covers and chat about the day’s events. We both felt the barometric pressure increasing so sleep would not follow our bedtime talk. By midnight our eyes were wide open. Lets watch the latest Netflix movie that just arrived in the mail, I suggested. An animated film with a great cast: Mel Brooks voice as Albert Einstein for starters!! OK, Ill get the air popper out. Wow, crazy times in the atmosphere. Why not have a midnight snack, a practice we never do. Dreamworks outdid themselves. I highly recommend this one even if you are not a fan of the characters. You will be! Now we check the clock and it’s going on 2am. The movie is over and the bowl filled with popcorn is empty. We are still wide awake and then it begins! Bolts of lightning followed by rumbles of thunder, so close overhead I ran to duck under the covers. Well, that continued for 2 hrs...lots of rain; so good for the trees and vegetation. So much drama from Mother Nature; one could not rest until she was ready to be still once again. I realize this storm cannot hold a candle to what is happening in Buffalo, NY. For me, the claps of thunder aroused more awareness for appreciation of our Planet and how powerful our Mother Earth really is.
