My Oscars Prediction: I havent seen some of the front-runners - TopicsExpress

My Oscars Prediction: I havent seen some of the front-runners this season such as Mathew, Jared and the movie, HER. I am unsure of this years winners either. I am not a professional nor an expert when it comes to judging movies and theater/movie acting performances, but Ill judge them based solely on how I think they make an impression. So here they are (as promised): BEST MOTION PICTURE: Gravity vs. 12 Years a Slave vs. American Hustle. My personal favorite for Best Motion Picture is American Hustle. In fact, I want to watch it again because of the story and its complexity, the power performances of the cast, and of course the editing. I just hate the Mayors family because I still cant think of any family thats so enthusiastically good as the that you see in the movie. Somehow, I began to think it was tailored for that movie only to emphasize the character of that family. Jennifers performance was really good, but somehow I thought there wasnt enough plot to see why her character is so. 12 Years A Slave leaves an impression because of the story itself. But I just cant vote for it, as last years Lincoln didnt win the prize (which btw is way, way better). Giving to this movie the award is anti-climactic. Gravity, well... I have no comment. I probably should have watched it on 3D which is not available for me. But you cannot discount it from the race. BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR (Leading Role): Mathew McConaughey - I havent seen his movie yet. I just cant stand him. Leonardo di Caprio vs. Chiwetel Ejicfor Chiwetels performance was downright consistent. And so was Leonardos. Leonardo di Caprios character is my favorite this year. Its comedic and his struggle on the stair to his car as he remained limp was absolutely great. They should hand it to him this time. Chiwetel, well very consistent. But not memorable enough. But can you really blame it to him? Or is it because of the character he played? BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS (Leading Role): Cate Blanchet vs. Meryl Streep vs. Amy Adams Why not Meryl Streep? In the story they said that she had mouth cancer? So why was her body not showing the stress caused by the cancer? In her face you can see she was exhausted psychologically but that was because of the family struggle. Where was the cancer? So, no to Meryl this year. Cate Blanchet should win this year. The progression of the characters stress leading to her losing her sanity in the end was just brilliant. She should win it. She just made me want to lose my sanity too. Amy Adams did remarkably well also. You can actually see the difference in her characters personality as she changed suit from Sydney (as she struggled in life gearing towards success) and Lady Edith as the con artists character. Special notes: Bradley Cooper is showing a great deal of promise. Michael Fassbender did a wonderful performance too! Jared Leto, I havent seen his movie yet. Philimena... I should watch this one too. For Best Director, Oh please give it to David O. Russel or Martin Scorsese. For Best supporting Actress, its going to be a contest between Jannifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts and Lupita NyongO. Paul Dano makes me cringe. He should get bigger roles.
