My Playstation 4 & XBOX One reviews ------------------------------------------ (disclaimer: since Playstation 1, Ive been a die-hard PS fan) System ------ Both systems are incredibly powerful, smooth running and work great. I personally prefer the system interface of XBOX One over PS4. Either way, they both take getting used to. Big thumbs down for both systems not having any video streaming support, although both systems support DVD & Blu Ray, this is a trend that will disappoint individuals who stream videos from their computers. Both systems require the annual premium membership to truly take advantage of most of the features & online gaming (PSPlus & XBOX Live), anticipate an annual expense of $60 / year to truly get the value out of your new console purchase. Graphics ------ Graphics are definitely a step up from previous generation gaming and from what I hear the games dont leverage the capabilities of the hardware so I suspect much more Controllers ------ PS4 wins this round hands down, with the unique design, rechargable controllers, aligned analog keycenter touchpad & on-controller speapers, the XBOX doesnt even come close. XBOX One Controller feels more comfortable in hand however. Big thumbs down to AA battery powered controllers as opposed to rechargable. Camera & Voice ------ XBOX One wins this round hands down, with the voice activation, camera detection, immersive use within games and all apps, this is mindblowing. XBOX Kinect Camera is amazing for XBOX Fitness apps and in-game gestures (e.g. Zoo Tycoon, feeding animals). PS4 camera detection & voice controls are also decent, but not very immersive and no great games to really showcase their capabilities. Games ------ Both platforms have unique games & exclusives that gamers arent going to want to miss. Currently XBOX has a much more powerful set of exclusive games, Microsoft clearly has been working very hard prior to release. If youre choosing a platform based on games, eventually you will be disappointed because both platforms will undoubtedly have incredible exclusives that will pull at your heart strings.
