My Premier League team of the season: GK: Petr Cech - TopicsExpress

My Premier League team of the season: GK: Petr Cech (Chelsea) This season people have been focusing on Mignolet and Sznesney, but Chelsea have only conceded 20 goals this season and Cech has been supurb. People say hes past his best, but in my opinion hes been as good this season has he has been five or six years ago. RB: Glen Johnson (Liverpool) I did want to mention Coleman, and some people may disagree, but I think Johnson has been playing brilliantly for Liverpool this season. No, hes not like Baines and Kolarov and doesnt get forward often to score, but his defending has been top notch. CB: John Terry (Chelsea) The former England captain has been rock solid this season. Easily one of, if not the best performing centreback in the league. There are no other words to describe what has been a fantastic season for Terry, even though hes probably your dad. I did want to put an Arsenal defender in this list, but Terry has done a good enough job to keep both contenders out. CB: Vincent Kompany (Man. City) Yes, Kompany did fall victim to Chelseas tactics this time last week, and yes City have lost four away games this season, but the difference between Man. City with Kompany in their team and Man. City without him is even obvious to a blind man. The City captain makes a huge difference to the team, defends as well as Terry and even gets forward down the field. LB: Alexander Kolarov (Man. City) It was hard to leave Baines out of this team, but seeing Kolarov playing so well Aand getting so little credit means I have to include him. To me, hes the perfect fullback. His freekicks are fantastic, he takes a penalty as well as a striker and is a fantastic defender too. The reason I left Baines out of the squad is because Baines hasnt been perfect this season, and in a couple of games he has slipped up and made some mistakes. Kolarov rarely lets City down. CM: Yaya Toure (Man. City) Toure has easily been one of the best players in the league this season. Hes the perfect midfielder. Hes got speed like Navas, strength like Hulk, a pass like Silva, a shot like Aguero, a tackle like Kompany, skills like Nasri, free kicks like Kolarov and is as good a defender as he is an attacker. Overall, world class. Deserves more than just African Player of the Year. CM: Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) Ramsey is a changed player. Before getting injured, he had doubled his Premier League tally. He was stunning against Liverpool and is extremely confident on the ball compared to last season. Hes an extremely useful player to have on your squad, as you can field him in a defensive position yet hell still score goals. CAM: Eden Hazard (Chelsea) Hazard has been tipped to be the next holder of the Ballon DOr, and he even said himself he is targeting to place himself on the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. At least rate, both will become true. Hes not only been Chelseas best player, but one of the best attacking players in the league, and his performances against City and Newcastle say it all. CAM: Mesut Ozil (Arsenal) Before the Liverpool game, Ozil has been living up to his price tag. Hes had tonnes of assists so far and been a brilliant player for Arsenal. He isnt the fastest player in the league, but was one of Real Madrids best players before leaving for the Gunners, which is an achievement in itself. CAM: Juan Mata (Man. Utd) Just three games into his Man. Utd career, and Mata has already become the clubs best player. Hes made a more than obvious change to a disappointing side, and creates chances whenever he gets the chance. Hes been brilliant in all three games and was brilliant for Chelsea before he left. ST: Sergio Aguero (Man. City) The striker who won the league for City two seasons ago is back. The leagues second top goalscorer, hes been a nightmare for defenders to deal with. Like Messi, he can skill his way past a whole back line and score from impossible angles, and hes a key part in a magnificent City attack. ST: Luis Suarez (Liverpool) Missing the first five games of the season and still being the leagues top scorer by around ten goals is not something a normal striker does. He might be in a drought, but Suarez has easily been the best striker in the league. Enough said.
