My Special and Different Birthday. The Beginning of the quest, for the last quarter of century of my life! My birthday was very different, which made it very special. Two events which were not experienced previously in my life. Going to a special temple, for people who have birthdays, and being blessed by a monk. Then in the night time the Moon Festival, which takes place on the 11th full moon of the year, and this year fell on my birthday. A Good luck omen, it is said. It was in two parts. You put a little flower boat on the water, with incense, a candle, and some flowers. It contains all your wishes for what you want in your life. The second part, is where you light a candle, under a lantern, and its sails high into the sky. It takes away all the not so good things you have experienced in your life during the last year. There was of course the usual stuff, that Brian Martin loves. A tremendous brunch, at Phuket’s top Sunday lunch spot, and meeting some fun people. And of course the day for young Brian, would not be complete without, some music, singing, and dancing. The best gift arrived by Skype, with the Martin granddaughters singing “HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDDAD” And of course being with my family, was filled with love and very special. A day of wonderful memories and experiences. I am definitely blessed, even if I say it myself. XXX
