My Statement .Highlights of the social culture and moments of obsessiveness are my chief interests in the recent work. It leads me to the idea of anthropomorphic characteristics found in all sorts of things that surround us. Anthropomorphic code is used all the time to compare, understand and make sense of shapes. It is a type of code, as a metaphor of course, that helps to process information the world has to offer. Figures, animals, food, furniture, industrial products, household items in a drawing possess the qualities applicable to a human. It is a powerful method of communicating various ideas. Humanlike attributes help to deliver the message in the most comprehensible way. It represents the something that is familiar, biological, psychological, basic. I choose abstracted depiction of my ideas, reserving the space for the potential various interpretations. It means, I intentionally avoid any realistic expression considering it to be too restrictive and programmed. In my drawings I am questioning myself. I am asking what the work needs to be. The work needs to be a storage for the visual interpretations, reclaiming inspiring events, sensible, painful, enigmatic, absurd, erotic, that forges inspirational vision for the future. The works needs to be the transparency of crispy noise between cigarette burn and a drop of water. The work needs to be the sight of silverback gorilla born in captivity, screaming out his favorite food, treats, glucosamine supplements, and plastic toys. The work needs to be the secret dark spot remained on the wall after peeled wallpaper. The work needs to be the paint swamp of two horses, showing their teeth, struggling with wind, and mandrill monkey. The work needs to be the sapphire cloud of the Spring snow melt. The work needs to be the imitation of the human posture through a muggy window, target of laughter and admiration. The work needs to be the x-Ray of a security blanket, that reveals more about ourselves than we want to acknowledge. Have a nice evening, Tanya Wolski.
