My Take on Rabhasa movie.. NTR Jr has been struggling for a good hit since 4 years. On this ganesh chatruthi festival his new movie named rabhasa has been released. Lets see what the plot is and how are the performances. The basic Plot is very simple and routine. NTR is a NRI in the movie, he comes to india to fulfill his mothers wish, that is marrying his mamayyas daugther. From a random phone call,some how he gets into a situation in bringing together two lovers, is also unwittingly the reason for the rift between two other families. The rest of the plot is how NTR brings together the two families and fulfills his mothers wish by winning his lady love. After reading the above plot, you might have think that some where you would have read the story line right? Yes most of the story is inspired from the movie Ready. Actually its not really inspired, but blindly Copied :). Actually if you see from his brindavanam movie, NTR cinemallo story ilane untaadi, oka hero, iddaru heroines, rendu families, he is the cause for rift between them and he only makes them reunite. Oka title song, 2-3 songs with heroines, last lo oka special song or family song, madhyalo 6-7 fights and koncham comedy scenes :) Some illogical things in the film: 1) In introduction scene, NTR gaadu kaalutho car ni tannithe.. Car oka 100 mts dooram pothadi. (My expression was Daevudaaa _/\_ ) 2) Samantha tries to call some random number, luckily it connects to NTR only, thats what script demanded. At that time, NTR is on some highway, from no where with in few mins he will reach nellore to save the couple. This is utter illogical. 3) Inka fights aithey cheppakkarledu.. Stunt master physics marchipoyadu anta :) a range lo unnayi fightsuu !! 4) I cant enlist all the illogical things here, because there are so many! Coming to Actors performances, NTRs action is quite routine with loud dialogues which were repetitive from his old films. Somehow he is loosing his credibity by accepting these type of films. He is basically depending only on directors capability not on the story line at all. He is basically a verastile actor and best dancer in TFI, he can pulls off very good roles. But that is not happening in his career since 4 years because of his routine roles. As I said earlier when a director gets a hit with some hero X, he is accepting a movie with that director seeing the result of his previous movie but not on the story line which he is going to act. For example, When Surender reddy gave hit to kalyanram with athanokkade, he gave one flop Ashok and avg Oosaravelli to NTR, when Boyapati gave a hit to Balayya with simha, he gave one flop Dammu to NTR, when srinu vytla gave a hit to Mahesh with Dookudu, he gave one flop Baadshah to NTR and when Harish Shankar gave a hit to Pawan with gabbar singh, he gave flop Ramayya Vastavayya to NTR. Same thing happened here also, Director Santhosh Srinivass previous film Kandireega which is a average fare but as per box office it is considered as hit, now gave a below average film to NTR. Hope NTR gets a chance to work with good director and story line. Samanthas role is like a baby doll which is not upto the mark.Compared with her previous performances in Manam YMC and yeto vellipoindi manasu, this is nothing for her. Pranithas role is jus a extended cameo, in which she is good at giving a smile, apart from that nothing she did. Music by thaman is Ok, few tunes are kind of repetitive. Rakhasi song which is sung by NTR itself, for that he did a very good job. His energetic tone had fitted properly for that track. Back ground score is too much loud and after sometime it gives head ache also. Brahmanandam has got a meaty role in second half,his punch dialogues werent so catchy, but few dialogues generated some laughs among audience. Ali is wasted in the film, only 2-3 scenes were there for him. Jayasudha, Nasser,Nagineedu and rest all actors are adequate as per the story line. Overall, a weak screen play, story and direction made Rabhasa an below avg and routine fare. Instead of watching rabhasa on big screen, better watch the movie ready on small screen !
