RA - a movie classified as a fantasy horror ,was gripping at times and touched upon, hitherto unknown,subjects in tamil movies like fourth dimension&red door.Technically well made but confusing towards the end,but nevertheless a good attempt. 3rd.SATHURANGA VETTAI- with zero star value and least of expectations, it was surprisingly a cool heist movie with a tight screenplay. 2nd.MADRAS- one of the better movies of 2014, set in North Chennai, was very well made with a fine performance from Karthi & others and excellent music rendered by Santosh Narayanan. 1st.JIGARTHANDA- A movie that very well fits into a new genre Musical Gangster- a Karthik Subburaj directed movie with a superb performance by Bobby Simha as Assault Sethu.The scintillating music score of Santosh Narayanan gave a Tarantino-like feel to the movie, easily the best of the lot.
