My Uncle, who has a Ph.D.., in Business, once told me, Buck, if the Government wants a tax increase, or a spending increase, they just add a zero, to the bottom line. No one pays attention, to a zero, they mean nothing. Today, our government added a few zeros, to a TEMPORARY spending bill. Just to put a small bit of perspective on this bill, I did a little math, just to see how big a 1.1 trillion dollar, temporary spending bill, actually is, and here are the results. A one dollar bill weighs one gram. Dont ask where I learned that, but you can take it to the bank. A dollar bill weighs one gram. There are 28 grams in an ounce, so 28 dollars weigh one ounce. There are 16 ounces in a pound, so 28 times 16 equals 448 grams, or dollars, per pound. This spending bill is a mere 1.1 trillion dollars. And, it is TEMPORARY. Please remember that. That is 1,100,000,000,000 or, one trillion, one hundred billion. 11, with 11 zeros behind it. So, using the formula above, $1,100 dollars weighs 2.5 pounds. $11,000 weighs 25 pounds. $110,000 weighs 250 pounds. $1,100,000 weighs 2,500 pounds. $11,000,000 weighs 25,000 pounds. $110,000,000 weighs 250,000 pounds. Thats one hundred ten million dollars. There are one thousand of those, in 1.1 trillion. Three maximum legal weight semi trucks. $1,100,000,000 weighs 2,500,000 pounds. Thats one billion, one hundred million, and there are one hundred of those, in 1.1 trillion. $11,000,000,000 weighs 25,000,000 pounds. Thats 11 billion dollars, and 25 million pounds. Five Space Shuttles, loaded, rockets, and boosters, full of fuel, at launch. The weight of 312 fully loaded Semi trucks. $110,000,000,000 weighs 250,000,000 pounds. Thats 110 billion dollars, and 250 million pounds. Those one dollar bills out weigh the largest Aircraft carrier, we ever built. The weight of 3125 fully loaded Semi trucks. $1,100,000,000,000 weighs 2,500,000,000 pounds. Thats one trillion, one hundred billion dollars, and it weighs 2 billion, 500 million pounds. The newest American Aircraft Carrier, the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan, cost 4.5 billion dollars to build. You could build 244 of those aircraft carriers, for a mere 1.1 trillion dollars. It weighs 2,028,000 pounds. It would take 12-Aircraft Carriers, the size of the Ronald Reagan, to weigh as much as a mere 1.1 trillion one dollar bills. The cost of the new World Trade Center, in New York, is estimated at 3.9 billion dollars. You could build 282 new World Trade Center buildings, for this mere 1.1 trillion dollars. It weighs an estimated 88 million pounds. Our one dollar bills now weigh more than 28 New World Trade Centers. More than 31,250 fully loaded Semi trucks. Check this out. If every person weighed 200 pounds, our 1.1 trillion one dollar bills, would weigh as much as 12,500,000 people. Thats twelve million five hundred thousand people, PEOPLE ! That is the population of New York City proper, Chicago proper, and Detroit, proper IF every person weighed 200 pounds! Tell me, again, how this spending package could possibly be this large, and only be TEMPORARY !!! Our government is run away stupid on spending, and taxing. There are 144 million employed American workers. If you infused a mere 1.1 trillion dollars into the work force, by person, each American worker would receive $7,639., as temporary relief! THAT could make a very Merry Christmas, for every worker, in the good ol U.S. of A. And, be a hell of a lot more well spent, than what the D.C. Politicians, and Bureaucrats have planned for your 1.1 trillion dollar monster. Merry Christmas, every one. Send your Congress Man or Woman, my regards.
