My ancestors were illegal immigrants. They fled religious persecution, death threats and a poor quality of life. They lost all they had and risked their lives to come to this country. Next week we celebrate those illegal aliens. My ancestors Stephen Hopkins, Constance Hopkins, Susanna, William and Resolved White, came on the Mayflower. My ancestors are called Pilgrims Pioneers and Heroes for coming to a country that belonged to the indigenous people. Its ironic that we honor them ... but so few people have compassion or genuine interest in the illegal aliens that come to the U.S. today for the very same reasons. God Bless you President Obama for showing compassion tonight!
