My baby boy is almost 6 mo old and we have had a very rocky nursing relationship from the start. He was born with a lip and tongue tie which made it difficult for him to latch and subsequently messed with my supply. Around 2 months we were able to fix the ties with lazer surgery. Since then we have been able to ebf and things have been going very well with him gaining about a oz a day. Recently he has been doing this kind of popping off the nipple thing. He will quickly jerk his head to the side with my nipple still in his mouth and he will do it over and over until I have to stop feeding him. I did some research and thought maybe with teething he was uncomfortable or possibly gas was bugging him since I unlatched him and he will belch but nothing I do is making it any better. He does it so much that we are back to nursing every hour because he never gets full and he is not gaining weight like he was because when he does nurse he will not empty the breast and there for is not getting the hind milk. I feel like it may even be messing with my supply again. I have no idea what to do and I am starting to feel desperate. We have fought so hard to make breastfeeding work but its one thing after the other.-Anonymous
