My beautiful and strong grandmother Edith passed away yesterday surrounded by her loved ones in Louisville. She was the original hard working Superwoman of our family taught me to love music. Every night when I was little and my parents were performing at the theatre she would play Cabaret on the piano and I would march down the steps and we would put on my very own show. She was the first to teach me Heart & Soul on the piano and drove me every Wednesday to Childrens Choir at church where she would accompany us. She taught me to love Pepsi and gave me my long legs. She was ALWAYS there for every event, performance, birthday and was so proud that I was her granddaughter. Although it has been hard to be teaching in Dallas during this quick turn of events I know I am where she would want me to be. Teaching the little ones what she helped to teach me. Today we perform our Broadway Showcase and this performance is totally for her. I am so honored to share this moment with this group of loving children. Tonight I will travel to Louisville to continue the celebration of my grandmothers amazing life!
