My client, John (with his favorite song playing in the background), performing a variation of a single leg hip bridge. The Hip Bridge is a great way to build the glutes both in terms of strength, and in terms of aesthetics. The are many variations of hip bridges, and this is one of them. Single leg hip bridges are more challenging than bi-lateral (both legs) hip bridges, and by elevating a foot and increasing the range of motion, the difficulty is further increased. Typically a box/bench is used to elevate the feet/foot, but in this case, we are using a medicine ball. The medicine ball adds a degree of instability requiring the exerciser to keep the ball stable, and adding additional difficulty to the hip bridge.
