My comment to a white person who was offended by this video and called it disgusting. My kindle wouldnt let me reply directly. But I would just like to open up a discussion and see how people feel about it. Also consider that there are plenty of black jokes black people will laugh at, no matter WHO tells them, but theres a line you dont cross. Thats what I was getting at with the last part of my comment. There is a difference between funny content and offensive content, so keep that in mind. Youll see which was the intent when you watch the video. Also, if you dont know about black face or minstrel shows, please read up on them before commenting so youll get the gist of what it was and why its a taboo topic. I dont generally care to discuss race but I thought that comment was ridiculous. Watch the video, read and respond with your opinion if you feel like it. My comment: “Its not disgusting. Its this simple. Theres no historical background, negative connotation, or oppression associated with “white face. White people are not being oppressed, stigmatized, or looked down on because of this. Dont be ridiculous. This is in no way degrading white people or de-valuing them. If youre butthurt, no one gives a damn. I guess you hate the movie White Chicks too right? You use terms like reverse-racism because racism is only “right or “makes sense when its white people hating black people, right? This is not racist in any way. Learn how to laugh at yourself. Do you think all black people act like the black parents in this video? NO! Do you think any black parents who speak proper english, are educated, eat clean and believe in positive reinforcement over spanking as disciplinary action were butthurt or offended after watching this video? NO. ITS CALLED COMEDY! Now if the white parents were rednecks with bad teeth who didnt speak properly and were wearing dirty, torn overalls and had roadkill for dinner, you MIGHT have something to take offense to. THINK BEFORE YOU COMMENT, OR DONT. HAVE A SEAT.
