My coworker today: “Check out this dead spider in a jar. What do you think it is?” Me: “It looks a lot like a black widow but I’m not totally sure because the markings are a little off. Same body type and shiny black color.” Her, turning the jar sideways and shaking with the lid off trying to get a better view: “Yeah, it’s stuck in a web so it’s hard to get a good view, but I think it’s a black widow. I’m going to ask Ed what he thinks.” A few minutes later I overhear: “Sorry I told you I had a dead spider in a jar, Ed. Guess there was enough air for it in there after all.”
