My dad would have been 83 today. I miss him terribly and I hope he would have been proud of all the voter registration work that we do. His birthday was Election Day. I often mention that he was a politician, one of the good ones. He was the youngest ever member of the New York State Legislature. He was a state senator, a NYS Supreme Court and Appellate Court Judge, and I looked up to him enormously. I can only hope that my own kids think of me as well as I did of my own Dad. He wasnt perfect, but who is? Ive learned from his mistakes as much as I have from his accomplishments. When I was born, he was in the middle of the last election that he ever took part in, the only one he ever lost, for Chief Judge of NYS. I wish I could find the picture of me in my Vote Sweater. Ive posted it before. Does something else exist beyond the sky, and will the angels walk or will they fly?
