My day began with emotions I had not expected. The morning drive - TopicsExpress

My day began with emotions I had not expected. The morning drive to work allowed me to reflect on things just enough to keep eyes puffy, red and streaked with smeared mascara. Then, an unexpected meeting at work that took me away from the much needed catch up I am playing since returning from vacation. Not a great morning...But after the meeting, I had a lengthy conversation with a woman I admire and respect. We are an unlikely match for most friendships. Differences in age, social status, etc. We dont phone each other, or email or text. In fact, we rarely see each other at all. Yet I feel such a bond with her. She thought she was venting to me as if it was a selfish release for her, however, she couldnt have been more wrong. Through her and our conversation, I was reminded of all the things that do connect us as humans, as women, as children of God. We all have a story in different phases of development. We all ebb and flow, give and receive. We all need each other and need to make ourselves available to one another. After returning to my office, I opened a text from Kaitlin Shook. She is wise beyond her years, sensitive, compassionate and a true gift. She saw some of my sadness this morning. She even experienced some of her own. Without thought of herself, she took the time to send me reassuring words when I needed them the most. Another bond I am so thankful for. She is such a beautiful young woman. In all ways. Her positive words were the icing on the cake. I am not sure who was praying for me today, but if you are reading this now...please know God heard you. He showed me through others, what I needed to be reminded of. Not the things that are changing beyond earthly control, but the things that are staying the same in spite of it all. I needed that. Thank you God. And lunch with Balboa was also reason to smile and count my blessings. Balance. Today, it was enough. His grace truly is sufficient.
