My dear Aunt Carol has left her body. I am still not sure who to tell, because Aunt Carol was THE person I could call first to tell her any news of my life. And, then she would tell everybody. She was my mentor, my advocate, and my friend. I am so lucky to exchange I love yous with her on a regular basis. And, thank goodness Summer brought us together so that she could meet Phoenix Rose, littlest of the little trees, and re-unite with her sis (my mother) who she always stood by despite divorce and distance. There are tears on both coasts these days, but so many of mine are tears of happiness. Example: I keep thinking about the sign at her desk all those years: Do you wanna speak to the Boss, or the Woman who knows whats going on? That was her. Funny and a bit of a prankster. Aunt Carol supported Shannon and I effortlessly. She loved my loves, and enjoyed my escalating career these last several years, suffering through many of the movies I worked on just to see my name in the credits at the end. Despite the realities of life, she stayed by Carroll Jr. until the end of his journey. As she did with my father, the one whom the Trees call Papa. I love her so much. I am excited for the next part of her journey and look forward to our next opportunity to embrace. I am sending out the light today, so if you get a hint of it, just smile with the knowledge that rowdy loves you.
