My dear friend Perry Grant posted this true story back in 2011. It is my practice to do my best to remember things that I deem inspirational and touching. Read Perrys words. Note his passion when he considers how he would feel if his career might be over if he moved forward with uncertain treatment; if needed. I have christened Perry The BEST Entertainer on the Seven Seas. I have done my fair share of cruising. The kudos I bestow on Perry were well-earned by him. He has a talent and a heart as big as the Grand Canyon. Read on . . . My huge epiglotis August 20, 2011 at 2:53pm they sent me to tip top Russian Clinic .absolute state of the art ,,,i had my own medical translator ...before she even started examining me we discussed everything for an hour ..she then stuck a camera thru my nostrils and grabbed my tongue forcefully ...it was quite a sight ....it was hard for her to get the camera down as my Epiglotis is apparently huge ! it took many attempts and a long examination ...verdict ...no nodules or polips ..no cancer but my vocal chords are raw red when they should be white. Only writing for 7 days otherwise i can kiss a singing career goodbye forever she said ...and she meant it ..she was fantastic I will not be able to talk or sing ..so i may be off work for 7 days ..so be it > I wouldnt want to live if i couldnt sing and i would not elect for treatment if it meant not being able to sing again . I wouldnt want to live if it meant not being able to sing again. Well, thank God Perry recovered and can now be heard in concert aboard Celebrity Cruisess Eclipse. Powerful and sincere words from a true artist and gentlemen who has shared his gift and his compassion with so very many people. Perry Grant is one of my Real American Heroes.
