My dear friends, Today is special! Today I would like to invite you to share with me my fascination with my latest jewelry creations - perhaps the most exquisite Ive ever made, certainly the most complex and intricate - unlike anything you have ever seen before. just discover for yourself... :) T H E S P H E R E R I N G is inspired by a mysterious ring from mid-18th century England on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. The design at first appears to be a normal ring band, but when you take the ring off your finger, four pivoted hoops unfold into an armillary sphere! This spectacular design was used to show the movement of the planets around the sun. It illustrates the interest in science common in the 18th century. It took months for me to make this design work, as it demanded the utmost of the art of goldsmithing. You will agree it is not only a great fun ring to play with (and you definitely WILL get addicted to play with it), it is indeed quite a delicate, technical masterpiece. There is nothing like it, and I feel very proud of this piece, which as my mom pointed out, would be equally amazing as a wristlet/bangle on an (ahm, her!) arm. :) A few words about the material: I create all my jewelry in gold because I believe in the idea of ultimate luxury - of jewelry that you dont just wear and that you forget on a coffee table somewhere one day, but jewelry that becomes part of who you are and how you feel; jewelry that accompanies you and that has meaning for you all your life. My designs, inspired by antique museum jewelry, demand respect - just imagine; after hundreds of years the original designs still exude a certain magic that inspired me - and you. For these reasons I believe in working with materials such as gold and precious stones exclusively. NOW...having said this, many of you have approached me regarding more affordable jewelry in silver. To this day I have refused. But as this Sphere Ring or wristlet is a real fun ring, that many of you, friends, have already told me, you looooveee, I have changed my mind and make an exception. The ring or wristlet is thus available not only in 18k yellow gold, but also in - lets state it, clearly more affordable .925 Silver (either rhodium-plated, 18k yellow or rose gold-plated). Dimensions The exact dimensions of the ring or wristlet depend on your ring (or wrist) size, but with my ring size 54 the width of the ring band is 4.2 mm, depth (thickness of all bands together when closed) is 3mm. As you know, all my jewelry is made to order to your specification. It will take ca 5 weeks to manufacture and have it shipped to you. To heighten the excitement, it will come in a beautiful handmade wooden box. And of course, personal wishes such as engraving can be integrated.
