My ex girlfriend Sharon told me a story of a Nigerian man she was dating online. She had never met him because she was in California and he was in Nigeria. After 3 months of talking, they decided that he should come to America. She trusted him so much and sent him $2,400 to buy his ticket. The day he was supposed to travel, he told her he was at the airport. She prepared herself, did her hair, had her nails done. She was nervous and excited Next day, the naija boy didnt show up. Tried his number, it was disconnected. She waited again. A day turned into 2 days, 2 days into 3. Her Co workers told her she had been played and conned out of his money. She couldnt belive it. She said ,but he loves, I know he loves me. I can tell he loves me. They responded, those naija boys dont play, get a reality check A week later, it dawned on her that the guy had run off with her hard earned money. She felt played, trashed and was extremely upset. This dude was not going to do her like that. She got in touch with an American embassy in Lagos. They gave her a number to a local police station. The naija police told her they would get intouch once they got facts together. A day later they called and said, madam we have located him. If You Send us $500 fuel money, We can rush to get him.we will retrieve the money plus return your $500. Thats the law in Nigeria. We are 200 miles away from his hiding place. She sent them $450. Thats the last she heard from them. ....
