My ex owes over $40,000 in back child support, fortunately I have had extra income over the last three years from an inheritance and was able to take care of my children. I have always worked fulltime, but now that the inheritance is gone its become impossible to pay all the bills. Does anyone know the best way to collect back support? I know I can file contempt charges, but that really wont put any money in my pocket. He works, put probably gets paid under the table. He doesnt own anything, but his father passed and his estate is supposed to be split between him and siblings. Id like to somehow put a lien on the estate. Does anyone have any experience with type of situation or recommend a good attorney? Has anyone gone through Child Support Enforcement office? Im not military. Im looking for someone with personal experience, not websites. TIA
