My faith to humanity was restored when supertyphoon Yolanda struck the Visayas a year ago. Our call for assistance, prayer and compassion was heard all over the world; selfless souls of all colors and beliefs sent their help in the form of money, relief goods, prayers and comforting words. The tragedy that claimed thousands of lives and billions of properties became the cornerstone of modern, digital brotherhood and altruism. Indeed, humans STILL exist in digital age! Today, I remember with fondness those times when I, alongside my friends, begged for donations to help our devastated brothers and sisters in the Visayas. Today, I remember with sadness how some friends denied us of the help we asked. But above all, I remember with great pride how we all withstood the adversity and how gracefully we told the world our unique brand of resilience and positivism. The quest for total rehabilitation is not over yet. There are still immense rehab endeavors that need to get done. But we are faithful, more than ever, that we shall all realize these rehab dreams in Gods most perfect time. A prayerful Yolanda anniversary to all.
