My father, Wes Rice Sr., passed away in his sleep last night in - TopicsExpress

My father, Wes Rice Sr., passed away in his sleep last night in Gilbert, Arizona around 8:30 Arizona time at the age of 84. He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after falling. On Tuesday he was moved to a Hospice home in Gilbert where he was comforted for his remaining days. I surprised him on Sunday when I walked into the hospital room. The next day I picked up my sister Deborah Rice, my niece Sierra West, and my son at the airport and surprised him again. Since he had arrived at the hospital. He had been wanting to go to the next step in his life. But when heard that his grandson Wesley III was coming from from Quantico, he made sure he would be there. For the remaining time of his life he was surrounded by us and received numerous calls from relatives and friends and even an old high classmate. During the time that he had a burst of energy he was cracking jokes and talking about memories with us kids. Yesterday, three of said our final goodbyes before heading back up Seattle. When we arrived in Seattle we received word from sister that we had passed away in his sleep. I believe that he had remained until we had left, since had even waited until my sister was out of the room. Love you dad, you will be missed but not forgotten!
