My father has always read the paper front to back and watched CNN religiously. He encouraged me to be more aware of the things happening around the world at a young age but it didnt hit home until the 911 attacks. I was working for porter leath children center in the AmeriCorps program at the time. I decided that I would start my day a little later than usual and hoped that no one would notice. To my surprise, when I walked into the center everyone was gathered around the television and watching the recap of these horrific attacks. I often ride in silence with no radio and Ive never enjoyed watching TV much so I had no clue. Every since that day I check three apps on my phone daily after my morning prayers. CNN, Commercial Appeal, and USA Today. #everyday #articlereadingjunkie
