My fellow Dear Filipinos & members of this group, Let me take this opportunity to correct some popular facts about the Cordillera Region. 1. The complete name of Cordillera is Cordillera Administrative not Autonomous Region we never had our autonomy. 2. Igorot is not a tribe, there are more than 300 tribes & sub-tribe of the Cordilleras, Igorot is originally from the Spanish word Igorrote meaning meaning mountain people. It is only a term used by the Spaniards to call the tribes of the Cordillera collectively. If you are a Cordilleran you must belong to one of the tribes ex. Ifugao, Kankana-ey, Ibaloi (the tribe where I belong), Kalanguya, Esneg & etc. 3. Baguio is the only chartered city of the Cordillera Region & the neighboring town of La Trinidad where strawberry farm & Rose Garden are located is often mistaken as part of Baguio. La Trinidad is the capital town of Benguet Province one of the cluster province forming the Cordillera Administrative Region #WeareFuntasticPhilippines
