My first few rides on a break in are pretty slow and look to be easy but in reality that is the ground work and prep I have done to get to this point hopefully paying off. Its also important to note that for the first couple of rides I am a passenger along for the ride. The horse has allowed me to be on him so its my job to allow him to find it comfortable. My poor video skills hopefully show how a second ride on a young horse goes. I suggest a few times a direction and ask for a free flowing walk but its all very slow and easy and you can see young rio is quite happy to oblige. Im not upsetting him or making the boo to big just giving him the time to come to terms with this new life aspect.
