My first rescue was an orange tabby cat when I was just 5 years - TopicsExpress

My first rescue was an orange tabby cat when I was just 5 years old. I dont remember how exactly we got him, but we found him on the street. Originally thought he was a girl, and named him Cleo. By the time we found out he was a boy, he name Cleo had stuck. He passed away mid-April in 2013. My second rescue was another cat. A Tuxedo mix that I rescued from Long Beach SPCA Animal Shelter near El Dorado for my 8th grade graduation present. Named her Zoey. I still have her (: Many more cat rescues came along but I rehomed them because we already had two cats where I lived. My third personal rescue was a rat who I shortly renamed J.R. (Just Rat). A family friend of mine was going to let her go wild and I intervened and took her as my own. BEST pet rat EVER! My first ever DOG rescue, fourth personal rescue was a black and white Pit Bull / Lab mix named Seamus. I raised him for a good year and a half before rehoming him with my great uncle who took a serious loving to Seamus. It was hard letting him go, but I knew another dog would come my way.. which, she did. Little Fly, a Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix.. mind you, Im not a big fan on smaller breed dogs..but Fly stole my heart the minute I held her in my hands. Shes my precious baby girl. She will be coming up on 2 years this next February, and Seamus 3 years, in July. The last rescue I took in was a small Shepard / Pointer mix that I named Davina.. rehomed her to a girl who had lost her puppy to a terrible hit&run just outside of her home. She renamed the little pup Lucy, and kept Davina as her middle name. All my rescues have kept a very special place in my heart... theres nothing like a rescue. They ALL have rescued me.. the ones Ive kept continue to do so, day by day.
